14-15 February 2008 - SHARING OUR COMMUNITY - a new course from Trafford Hall.
Have you ever wondered about the newcomers in your community who have come to settle in Britain from abroad? Do their clothes and behaviour disturb you? Why don't they join in with the rest of the community? Why don't they answer the door? What's Ramadan? What's Diwali? What's the difference between an asylum seeker and a refugee?
If you've ever asked yourself these or similar questions and you are really dedicated to community cohesion this course could enlighten you and help you to turn a confused, worried community into a more relaxed, harmonious place to live.
For ANY COMMUNITY VOLUNTEER this course is free including single en-suite accommodation, all meals and refreshments. There is a £10 administration charge.
Application form can be found on their website http://www.traffordhall.com/ at the back of the current training brochure. More information on other courses can also be found there. Or just ask them and they'll email you a file of the brochure.
