Good Practice
Facilitating means of sharing good practice across District
Website
We would like this website to be a valuable information resource for the District. The website will hold information not only on the Diversity Exchange project itself but you will also be able to find links to other websites and information on a variety of topics. If you would like your project to be featured on the website or have a useful link you feel should be included please let us know - contact details available through contact us
Simplified Guides
The Diversity Exchange would like to draw together the wealth of expertise, knowledge and experience we have here in the District to produce a range of simplified Guides to various areas of work. We are currently looking at developing resources around:
Refugees and Asylum Seekers |
Workplace Diversity and Legislation information |
Children and Young People's Participation and others |
Working with Faith Communities |
Working with Community Groups |
The Guides will be designed to address the specific Bradford context and will include an introduction to the topic, guidelines, and ideas for how best to ensure your organisation is adhering to good practice principles. We would like each guide to feature real-life scenarios faced by local groups and organisations and how they tackled the issues.
Diversity and Equality
Links are being made with a variety of initiatives across the region which focus on aspects of diversity. It is hoped that the Diversity Exchange can be a central resource to coordinate some of this work and help develop a strategic overview for this area of work.
Currently we are working on developing some work around barriers faced by disabled people wanting to enter the workplace, particularly those from ethnic minorities. We would like this work to involve local disabled people, service providers and employers themselves.
Communities
Work has started on a Linking Communities project which will bring together different communities to share experiences and good practice. Several community groups have expressed an interest and we will be looking for host groups and visiting groups in autumn 2004.
